This is a collaborative effort to archive as many phone (and other portable devices) ringtones as possible, ranging from old to new. While we are not accepting packs of custom-made ringtones as there are plenty of other sites hosting those, if you have any phone ringtone packs missing from here, feel free to submit them to us! This archive has several maintainers, including: - fusoxide (@fusoxide on Twitter, runs @techprodbangers) - Old Phone Preservation (@OldPhonePreserv on Twitter) - MutedTrampet (@MutedTrampet@dragonscave.space on Mastodon) - pitermach (@pitermach on Twitter) - wackypack (@wackypacc on Twitter, runs http://www.romphonix.org/) - ZmeyKolbasnik The 3.onj.me/phonetones portion of the archive is hosted by Andre Louis (aka Onj). If you feel like supporting server upkeep, please send a little something via PayPal to https://www.paypal.me/AndreLouis or CashApp to £OnjMusic. Here is the Resilio Sync key that will allow to you sync this archive onto your PC, so you can have everything without having to download individual packs: BCY4PMASSMX6PTEVJXU7RQOL4KBAZI5NP Feel free to join the ROMphonix Discord server, where you can share your ringtone dumps and research: https://discord.gg/2GKuJjQagp When submitting packs, please consider the following: - Try and name the extracted ringtones when possible, and use the exact titles that are used on the phone. *"Proper tone names" means the names of the ringtones that are shown on the phone, not a guess of what you think they might be called.* - Picking files from other phones is strongly discouraged, with exceptions such as if you're 100% sure the files are the same. There are often very small nuances between ringtones on different phones, such as instruments or EQ. We will be able to spot if you have done this, and your pack is very unlikely to be accepted. - Do not alter the extracted files. If you want to include fixed versions or MIDIs extracted from a format such as MXMF or PMD, include those in a subfolder. - Try and preserve the folder structure of the extracted sounds folder when possible. - Don't submit recordings or conversions here. This site is only for exact files extracted from phones or downloads from websites.' - Including system sounds is not required, but is encouraged, especially if they are just as easy to extract as the ringtones are. This includes things such as the boot sound, notifications, charging, and so on. - (applies to Android devices only) If a device *only* has stock ringtones, there is not much point in uploading it, as it's technically a duplicate of an already existing pack. It's okay if a phone has stock Android tones included, but if that is the only thing present, then it will not be accepted. - For carrier versions of phones, if the only difference between the regular and carrier set is that the carrier added their default ringtone, you're probably better off just submitting the ringtone itself for inclusion in the Carriers folder. If a carrier alters a manufacturer's set (i.e removing tones to save space) and/or added lots of their own tones, then we would definitely include the pack. - If a phone has no English language setting, it's always preferable to use the original ringtone names where possible. English transliterations should only be done if necessary, e.g. if a program for playing a specific ringtone format is picky about the usage of proper locales, and in these cases, if a transliteration is done, a record of the original names should be kept in a corresponding file.
