Phonon for iOS, by Andre Louis, generates speech locally using Gradium Phonon. The app does not collect your personal data, send text or audio to a server, include advertising or analytics, or require an account.

Information on your device

Your selected preview voice and language are saved in local app preferences. Preview text is not saved by the app. Voice models and the compiled model cache are stored on your device and shared with the speech extension through the app's private App Group. The extension receives text from iOS speech services to generate audio locally.

Diagnostics and external links

Phonon uses Apple's local logging system for preparation failures and operational status. It does not log the text you ask it to speak. Apple's own optional diagnostic-sharing settings are controlled by you. Opening a web link uses your browser and the linked site's privacy practices.
